I’m beta testing Measure Map, a web application that helps people get to know their blogs. It collects and analyzes blog-specific traffic statistics and present them in an intuitive interface beautified by Flash and AJAX. It’s really cool.
When I looked at my blog statistics this morning, I was surprised to see negative visitors and links. Not nice. I immediately e-mailed the team of Adaptive Path to tell them about my problem so they can look at it as soon as possible. However, it seems that I won’t get any feedback soon. It’s weekend after all…
It’s sad to get this bug but I feel fortunate that I’m not the only one seeing negative statistics in my blog. Some users have reported this bug in Measure Map forum too. I’m not sure if this is related to the recent database migration that happened last wednesday. I just hope that this problem will be fixed soon.
UPDATE: (1/23/2005 3:55 PM) I think that the bug had been fixed. My blog stats is back to normal.

Wired.com has an interesting article regarding anonymity on a disk, an initiative by kaos.theory security research to make a bootable CD and make anyone totally anonymous.
The goal is to put a secure crypto-heavy operating systems on a bootable CD called Anonym.OS: a disk that would offer the masses the same level of privacy available to security professionals, but with an easy user interface. In turn, anyone will be able to enjoy the advantages of anonymity without any highly technical skill.
Anonym.OS is an OpenBSD 3.8 Live CD with strong tools for anonymizing and encrypting connections. Standard network applications are provided and configured to take advantage of the tor onion routing network. There is a PDF presentation on how to make your own Anonym.OS. Of all the operating system mentioned in the presentation, Windows is the hardest to secure. I concur, from a user and admin point of view. Take note that if you have no time to spare on making your own Anonym.OS just use the Anonym.OS Live CD.
Anonym.OS Live CD is now available via Sourceforge(ISO) or LinuxTracker (BiTtorrent).

FlyakiteOSX 3.0 is the biggest release of FlyakiteOSX yet. Transform and overhaul your ordinary Windows XP into Mac OS X look and feel. This new version has more features and softwares that makes it the most sought after OS X tranformation pack for Windows. The new installer will update the old installation of FlyakiteOSX 2.0 so you don’t need to uninstall or reformat your PC.
New softwares included are SearchSpy 1.0 Spotlight clone, iTunes Multi-Plugin 2.2, Tiger System Preferences v2, Alt+Q Hotkey Tool, iColorFolder 1.2, ObjectDock 1.2, Universal UXTheme Patcher 1.3, and RK Launcher 0.4 Beta.
There are lots of bug fixes and tweaks in this release, and there are more files to be modified in your PC when you install Flyakite 3.0. Nevertheless, the uninstaller promises to remove everything that was installed and restore anything that was modified, in case you want to remove FlyakiteOSX. Apart from additional skin files and miscellaneous graphics, there are more cool features that make FlyakiteOSX 3.0 feels closer to OS X. For instance console applications like MS-DOS (cmd.exe) will look like Terminal in OS X and more applications get their own OS X facelift. The overall UI is very much like a copy of OS X.
If you want to try OS X interface but you don’t want an Apple (or you can’t own an Apple) then you should try FlyakiteOSX.

This is possible using portals that strips out graphics, javascript and other elements not needed by your mobile phone or PDA browser.
Here are the portals that can instantly render any ordinary websites into mobile website:
Google mobile: http://www.google.com/gwt/n
This is the latest offering from Google. Great for browsing mobile pages because it gives you an option to remove images. It also trims the website into several pages so that you can browse it easily in your mobile browser.
You can also try Skweezer and IYHY. They do not paginate mobile pages so the mobile web page may take too long to load or your mobile browser may not be able to browse the entire page.
