It’s really sleek. I like it… it resembles Beastie in many ways but this new logo is simple yet devilish like the red devil mascot (Beastie is the red BSD daemon).
Someone says it looks like a pokeball (the ball used to catch Pokemons) LOL. 
Anyway BSD is an acronym for “Berkeley Software Distribution”, which is the name the Berkeley CSRG (Computer Systems Research Group) chose for their UNIX distribution way back when.
This morning I checked ftp.mozilla.org for Firefox 1.5 RC1 and it was finally uploaded there. During that time, the webpages of mozilla.org was not yet updated so I got my copy of 1.5 RC1 earlier than the public announcement.
Some of my favorite extensions were disabled because of the upgrade, but I don’t mind. Most of them will be upgraded soon anyway.
Firefox 1.5 RC2, the next release, is scheduled on November 11, 2005.
