Whatever It Is

I’ve been reading lots of good articles lately and I have lots of great stuffs in my head that I want to discuss yet five days after my last post it seems that I cannot inject some juicy content here in my blog. Heh. I’m not sure if this is writer’s block, lack of inspiration or just plain laziness. Whatever the cause of this momentary absence in my blog, I just hope I’ll be able to make it up.

Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children

Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children, the DVD movie sequel of the famous PS1 game, leaked in the internet instantaneously when it was released in Japan this week. Currently, top Bit Torrent sharing sites have some DVD rips of the this CG film.

Spoilers ahead!

Tifa's Ring

Now, let’s inspect some of the screenshots I made from the DVD. Here’s a focused screenshot of Tifa’s ring. (Courtesy of my gf, she mentioned it first!) It was confirmed to be Cloud’s Wolf Ring. Whatever is the reason it ended up on Tifa’s ring finger, we do not know. Cloud-Tifa fans would simply interpret this as a ring given by Cloud; however, we do not know the motives of Cloud anyway. He’s always been a jerk when it comes to Tifa’s affection towards him. Heh :P

Next, we see a gray lone wolf in the film… it’s definitely a symbolism used in the film… but what is it? It would be Zack or Aeris. Most probably that would be Zack (if Aeris would appear as an animal, I guess it would be more feminine and cute feline, not a fierce and furry wolf).

Now, to spoil it even more… It seems that Aeris bid goodbye to Cloud already. See that? Zack is with her in the Lifestream already. They’re probably happy now that are together in their afterlife. Looks sweet? Hehehe.

Aeris and Zack

Below is group pic. You see here that most of them have dressed differently except Vincent, Cait Sith and Red XIII. Barret has a good set of gatling guns in his gunarm. Then, Cait Sith appeared without the stuffed mog fortune teller! I hate its voice too! Whatever happened to their ultimate weapons? They should at least use stronger weapons. For instance, Tifa is just using damn leather gloves! I think it’s cooler if she have used at least Ergheiz agains Loz. She could have won the fight. Yuffie on the otherhand boots her new floral innerwear (she’s a girl after all). Btw, Cid seems to be on his 20’s only… I think he should look older for real. :P

Anyway… that’s some of my comments regarding the characters but there are more criticisms regarding the story. That’s out of my scope. You should find out by watching the DVD. :)

Trivia:
September marks the 46th anniversary of Xerox 914, the first automatic office copier to use ordinary paper. Well, I stumbled upon this information while I am doing a research on Xerox Inc. at this very moment. :)

Don’t you know there are six new ways to watch? Wired.com has an article about TV 2.0 and it talks about the differences among internet TV, P2PTV, HDTV, IPTV, Streaming video and Cell phone TV. I’m currently a big fan of P2PTV and streaming video but I didn’t know their backgrounds. So if you don’t know much about these technologies I recommend that you read the article. Wired.com has compiled information about these technologies and discussed why these technologies really matter.

In relation to video, Tech News World reported that Samsung plans to market a player that will read both HD-DVD and Bluray discs! For the uninitiated, Sony, the leading backer of the Blu-ray high-definition DVD format, and Toshiba, the leading backer of rival HD-DVD, cannot agree which format should prevail. Samsung, on the other hand, announced that it will release a machine that would play both, adding pressure to other companies to do the same.

They are collectively known as Mojofly and it was the highlight of the day. The band performed some neat indie music down our school lobby, which was temporarily transformed into a music stage, thanks to freshmen week programme. The stage set has 2 decent sets of loudspeaker cabinets, typically found in concerts, and they’re huge, connected to several music gears, amplifiers and equilizers.

The synths were quite good because even if the music stage was inside the school lobby, echoes were minimal. The sound coming from the loudspeakers were solid, you could feel the trembling deep bass. And when the drummers hit the cymbals you’ll cringe because of the crisp sound.

Anyway, I was not able to watch all of the jamming because I have classes but I think the programme was great. It was hosted by Joey and Miles of Magic 89.9 and they even gave away some cool freebies (bring me’s). :)

It’s really a rarity to see these events going on in our school and I really appreciate it amidst the looming pressure of case studies and exams.
