Well, not you… but at least let your name go to Pluto…
Join the first mission to the last planet
Well… the probe will return to earth in approximately fifty thousand years (50,000 yrs.) So we are certainly dead in that far future (uhm… unless you decided to get frozen in cryogenics). It’s not a bad idea to keep a memento on space, so sign your name now; there’s nothing to lose.
Thank you for joining the first mission to the last planet! A compact disc bearing your name will be included on the New Horizons spacecraft, set for the first voyage to a new class of planets on the solar system’s farthest frontier.
Come with us as we complete the reconnaissance of the solar system and unlock the secrets of Pluto, its moon, Charon, and the Kuiper Belt.
The quote above came from the web certificate that you can print… in fact I printed one sample. You also get a certificate no. Mine is Certificate No. 299411
The registration will close on September 15, 2005.

I was browsing the new album releases at OPM section in Tower Records, ATC when I noticed a seemingly sesame-street-like album cover. Oh! “Halina sa Parokya” is the title of the album. Without doubt, that’s a Parokya ni Edgar album. Hilarious, I thought. Chito and Vinci made up 2 puppets that resemble themselves (look closer, you’ll see)! There goes Buwi looking like the dirtbag Oscar the grouch. I don’t know about the rest…. I don’t recognize their imitated characters. They look… odd.
It seems that this album cover was inspired by Sesame Street and its local counterpart Batibot. I don’t know why… I just laughed when I saw the cover. LOL. That’s so wity and humorous. They look like kids trying to portray Batibot and Sesame Street desperately. On the musical side, the tunes of Parokya ni Edgar in this album stay true to their roots, keeping the songs distinguishably Parokya ni Edgar. Most of the lyrics in this album are so comical you’ll just laugh in between tracks. That’s the typical Parokya ni Edgar style that no one could match.
The familiar song “First Day Funk” as featured by Rexona is included in this album. I wasn’t surprised when I heard a rap song in the album because of Parokya ni Edgar’s influences in rap. The song is titled “Bagsakan” featuring Francis Magalona and Gloc-9. Man, that’s really a good collaboration. There’s also a song entitled “Walang Nangyari”, a spoof of Andrew E’s hit single “Andrew Ford Medina”. Here’s my favorite… “The Ordertaker”, a somewhat explicit yet funny rendition of System of a Down’s “Toxicity”. Just listen to it and you’ll be surprised how close Parokya ni Edgar managed to perform instrumentals as good as the original.
Of course there are more songs in the album, but the songs I mentioned above captured most of my attention while listening the sample CD in Tower Records… Geeez, I wanted to get a copy of that album but I didn’t have the budget. Nevermind, I will manage to get one soon.
I’m in the middle of completing our case study in Cisco but it seems that I’m the only one working on it… I am hopeful that they are doing some reading about ACLs so that they can double check my work.
The only reason why { I | we } didn’t schedule an online collaboration is because I let someone else assign a date for the collaboration since I will not be able to get online due to certain circumstances. Apparently my internet connection is back and I am left doing this project.
I used Visio to draw our diagram and it’s looking good.
Check it out…

I find these quotes amusing..
63% of all statistics are made up… including this one.
Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
Technical people respond to questions in three ways
It is technically impossible (meaning: I don’t feel like doing it);
It depends (meaning: abandon all hope of a useful answer);
The data bits are flexed through a collectimizer which strips the flow-gate arrays into virtual message elements (meaning: I don’t know).
The Dogbert method of eliminating guilt is simple. All of your problems are caused by invisible people named Juan and Cindy. All you have to do is find them and kill them.
When did ignorance become a point of view?
Work is for losers. A winner says ‘That’s on my list’ and never commits to a deadline.

In my latest blog update, I added some usefull plugins including Auto Links, Moose Candy and WordPress Hashcash. I also included some Google Ads to make this blog somewhat profitable. I also added some promotional micro buttons. AFAIK, there’s no official Animesuki promotional button so I created my own.
My favorite plugin right now is Auto Links because it’s really cool… for instance, it links Harry Potter with my Amazon associate ID… so I get credits when you purchase any Harry Potter books. LOL. Unlike other auto link plugins, it never repeats linkage so it only hyperlinks one instance of the keyword. It’s very good in personal blogs; using it in e-commerce blogs is better.

I can safely say that my last dining in Tropical Hut Burgers was a decade ago… yeah, that should be quite “accurate” because I’m still a youngster back then, and the only Tropical Hut branch I knew was the Alabang Branch in front of Muntinlupa public market. During that time, I come with my mother to the public market to carry stuffs; she treats in Tropical Hut later. That’s my faint memory of the old Tropical Hut… of course I have already forgotten the taste of their burgers so I cannot make comparison between the old and new taste.
I’m just glad that I dinned in to Tropical Hut again; I was not disappointed with their burgers. The taste is just right. What really surprised me is the stricking similarities of their chicken to Mcdo; and their french fries to Pizza Hut in terms of taste and preparation.
Anyway, the reason why I ate there is because of my friends. We had our late dinner break in Tropical Hut. Somebody suggested to eat there, and so we did.

It was Wednesday morning when our DSL suddenly disconnected. Then, I noticed the LED indicator for “DSL” of our modem was off. I suspected immediately that the DSL service was down but I was surprise to find out when I lifted the telephone, and that there was no dial tone too! What was happening?!
I told my father to report to 173 as soon as possible so that when I come back from school, I could finish my work already. Afterwards, my father informed me that the dial tone has been not restored yet. It was already late afternoon. I called 173 on my way back home. The automated telephone service prompted me to one of PLDT customer service representatives. The PLDT customer service representative was chatting with her colleague when I was connected to her line, and she didn’t realize I’m already online. I listened for a moment, waiting for the representative to notice that someone is already on the line. (Isn’t it stupid to forget muting the mic?) Anyway… after a while, the representative had come back to earth and responded to my call. Of course, as a typical customer service representative, she had promised to let the repair crew know of the present situation. Blah blah blah….
Later on, I learned that the PLDT telephone cables in our area were actually pillaged by thieves. As a result, our subdivision did not have telephone and internet service for days. The scrap cables and wirings that the thieves took are quite profitable because the wirings are gold plated, as one of the repair PLDT crew told us. It has been their problem ever since the oppressed community learned that those can be sold in the black market. Easy money, eh? And It didn’t happen once. In fact, they told me that it happened for the 6th time in our area already. Some people have already pointed who the culprits are, but there is no evidence so the people cannot just point fingers.
I asked the repair crew why this kind of incidents cannot be prevented easily and they told me that PLDT has no direct responsibility to watch every cablings they install, so the community should help them catch these thieves in order to protect the services offered to our community. It makes sense, but can’t they go an extra mile to protect their investment?
The next day, I had to check my emails badly so I had to use a friend’s internet shamelessly. I had no better choice. There was still no dial tone but I received good news from our neighbor: the wires were already set. The repair crew just needed a little more time to replace the wires.
At last, on the 3rd day, our dial tone was restored and our DSL was finally operational. I thought that the repair will stretch between 1 – 4 weeks. I’m thankful that the worse case didn’t happen.
