I am about to write my reaction paper about Rizal sa Dapitan.
We are supposed to write a summary about the film and write our reaction about it. Using my reference book Jose Rizal written by Zaide, I think we should be able to compare if the movie really holds truthful information about Rizal’s stay in Dapitan or it was just filmed as a mere fiction or imagination of the director.
I will find out soon. 
Today, my girlfriend and I are celebrating our second year anniversary. Isn’t it lovely? Time passes by so quickly that we didn’t even notice we’ve already committed in our relationship for 2 years. It’s relatively short when you compare ours to a life-long committment but at least we managed to survive the first 2 years as a couple. Anyway, I’m going to buy her some stuffs later this afternoon. ^_^ :*
We are using the 3rd edition of this book as reference to our project in our database systems, and all I can say is that this book has very excellent examples. For instance the normalization topics in this book is one of the best written explanation about normalization that I have found… I use the 4th edition powerpoint slides as reference, and it helps a lot because I only borrow book from the library. (I don’t want to invest in this book because I rather spend my money for PHP and MySQL books)
Argh.. talking about our project in Database I’ll be doing a lot of ER diagrams and relational diagrams in Visio 2003… 
waah.. another sleepless night for me, not to mention we have quiz tomorrow about implementation of rules and views in MS SQL 2000. Geezzz…. let’s burn the midnight oil once again… x_x
I want to thanks ate Sarah for giving me a sample database thesis. She used is to be my senior in college and now she has a job somewhere in RCBC Plaza as a COBOL programmer. The thesis she gave me was actually monitored and checked by our professor so I already have a preview of her of standards, taste or preference in documentations.
I was amazed by this news from eWeek.
The leading Linux figure, Daniel Robbins, the founder of Gentoo Linux and its former chief architect, has announced that he has accepted a position at Microsoft Corp.
In a brief note to the Gentoo Foundation Inc. community, Robbins said he was leaving Gentoo and that he will be “helping Microsoft to understand Open Source and community-based projects.”
Well if Microsoft will open an ear, they might eventually learn from this dude about open-source. I don’t if that’s a bad thing but it definitely looks awkward that they are hiring Linux expert.
I had a chance to call in America for free thanks to VoIP. It’s really cool and convenient.
I tested Skype with my friend Enye and the quality of the voice conversation was pretty good. We also tried the new “call” feature in Yahoo! Instant Messenger (YIM) and it really looks like a copy of Skype. What I really like about Skype is the candy-like interface… I don’t know if I’m the only one who thinks that their website is very candy-ish too. The yellow-green white combination makes it even more “yummy”. 
Anyway, regarding Skype’s features, it’s very intuitive and feels much like YIM, albeit the bubblegum effect. I have to try the conference feature yet… I will pull some people to test it as it might be very useful in guild wars tactics. I know hard core gamers who uses VoIP softwares to communicate in realtime. Ventrillo is very popular in counter strike community as well as in mmorpgs but the problem with Ventrillo is, you need a central server for it to work, unlike Skype which is decentralize, which is P2P instead. On the otherhand Skype’s conference feature is limited to 4 + host… (which is 5?)
Anyway I was about to purchase credits for Skype when Moneybookers, the credit card gateway of Skype wants me to send scanned copy of my credit card’s front and back and a document.. blah blah, I was really discouraged and searched for another VoIP service that is less hassle than Skype credit billing. Then I found VoIP Buster from Skype’s forum. I was relieved when I found it. As a beta product and service, VoIP Buster allows beta users to call for free… but it has 1 minute limit to reserve capacity for their genuine testers. I have to buy just one Euro (€ 1.00) worth of credit to get unlimited free calls to any regular phones of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States! Isn’t very cool! It’s free to call in any of these countries! ^_^ Well, so much for Skype now… I think that they have to resctructure their rates to get very competitive. From what I see, telephony is getting much cheaper these days because of VoIP. How sweet!
