Taken from the website: Smart Wifi is the revolutionary high-speed broadband internet service of Smart, the leader in wireless innovation. Smart WiFi brings broadband internet into your home by using the nationwide cellular network of Smart to wirelessly connect your computer to the Internet! So now you can surf the Net at broadband speed even if youre beyond the reach of a phone line.
The service works by simply installing a Smart WiFi antenna at your home which is directed to the nearest Smart cellsite to give you the strongest connection signal possible. And once the antenna is cabled to your home computer, youre instantly connected and ready to chat, e-mail & surf up to 2x faster than the speed of dial-up!
For P788, it’s ok.. but then having heard feedbacks from Meridian wireless internet I really doubt it is that smart. The signals are quite unstable from time to time. Meridian wireless internet happens to be an umbrella company of PLDT, and since PLDT owns Smart, there’s no doubt Smart Wifi IS Meridian wireless internet. It’s just a name change, but I cannot confirm whether this is a better version of Meridian wireless internet service. Judging from the feedbacks from some Meridian wireless internet users, if not unstable, this wifi service is going to have a bad reputation for its lack of good support. If my speculation is correct both Meridian and Smart Wifi is just in BETA phase. If not, why would there be so many problems? There are so many times that their radio signals went off for days, leaving the poor customer no option but to go back to 56k dialup until the service resumes. I heard so many version of these stories, and they are all real stories how unlucky some subscribers can be.
Well, I hope that for this repacked version, Smart wifi will address the common complains of Meridian users. Luckily I didn’t choose Meridian wireless internet as PLDT MyDSL just got installed in our area when I’m about to give up with DSL already.
Update 4/26/2006– I’ve written an entry about SMART Bro, the new branding of Smart WiFi. If you want to comment about your concern please leave your comments there. I also appreciate if you stop spewing vulgar words. ^_^ This is my personal blog and I’m not affiliated with Smart or PLDT at all. Thanks!

I don’t agree… smart wifi speed is really good… and I think it’s cheap for only 988 a month just the same as pldt wireless with speed of 384 kbps!!! (I know smart’s under pldt) the service is really good… If you are not a subscriber don’t comment at all ’cause u don’t experience the speed… duhh!!!!!!????
December 23rd, 2005 at 12:28 am
meliisa… where is your location?
January 9th, 2006 at 10:06 am
smart wifi really sucks!! i’m one of their subscriber and all i can say is that their connection is really bad! yung true speed na 384kbps maachieve nyo lng kpag madaling araw about 1am-7am then after that npaka bagal na ng connection nila and sometimes naddisconnect pa. for those who want to have quality internet connection DONT EVER PLAN TO HAVE SMART WIFI IT REALLY SUCKS!!
January 10th, 2006 at 4:10 pm
ano ba mas maganda smart or globe broadband?? im from pangasinan magkano po ba plss help me txt me at 09159116308
January 10th, 2006 at 11:29 pm
It’s hard to comment because I don’t have a first-hand experience with Globe broadband, and besides I’m in Metro Manila area. Broadband service may vary on your geographical location especially wireless internet such as Smart wi-fi. You should check your local community for feedback. It’s the best way to gather service information in your place.
January 13th, 2006 at 12:53 pm
dont have to reason up Smart-ass wifi! live to your premise! its notgood eventhough katapat na ng atenna ko dito sa bacolod ang antenna niyo! what else sucks? the service and the meridian partner niyo! just as when i upgraded my aaccount mas lalo pang sumama! limited or no cnnectivity, the smart portal what else pa ang hasel? oh, for Christ’s sake! the hours-long technical SUPOT hotline nyo! how stupid is it to do some line maintenance on weekdays? hasssseeeeeellllll!!!! Bacolod is such a small place and even in a matter of month, I’m going exert all my effort to ruin more Smart wifi’s shitty service! there are times it is good pero bastusan naman, give a quality service for people who pays on time! Smart wifi and meridian, YOU SUCK BIGTIME!!! YOU GUYS ARE WASTING OUR MONEY! CLEARLY NA ANOTHER WAY NG PAGNANAKAW YAN DAHIL DI KAYO MARUNONG MAGSERBISYO NG PATAS!
*hopefully when other internet lines here in our area of Negros Occidental will be available magpapadisconnect na KAMING LAHAT! adahil dinudugo na kami sa walang kwentang serbisyo niyo!
I HATE YOU SOOO MUCH!!!!!
January 15th, 2006 at 2:49 pm
That’s the reason why you should do a local research first before jumping into any broadband service. You have my sympathy Bacolod lady. I’m sure you’re not the only one having bad experience with Smart wifi.
January 15th, 2006 at 3:43 pm
thanks.. Of course I researched about it.. My house is two-storey thats why the meridian team said i have the best location.. blah!!!!blah!!!!
I’m on the fourth day na of “limited or no connectivity” status… CURSE! CURSE! can we sue smart for this? they keep on saying i will receive a call within 24hours.. di naman 4days!!! well, the reason why im spilling it all here coz i cannot call their offices coz lahat wala ring mga alam! all the customer support they can offer is through calling and waiting hour-long at *1888!!!! And they are saying that the connection box naman daw ang problema.. WHY ARE THEY GIVING US DEFECTIVE APARATUS???? Wa-ay talaga!!!
Well, you guys can imagine how my head can bleed in the next days that they try to torture people doing business through internet!! DAMMIT!!! I CANT GET ANY HELP!!!!
LEARN FROM ME!! DONT USE SMART WIFI!!!
January 18th, 2006 at 3:36 pm
great.. 8 days now.. of calling *1888 and following up the status of my internet connection… yes, you guys guessed it right.. they are this slow in giving service.. you might ask why the hell dont i just have it cut? wala pa pong pldt or globe line na available samin dito.. if you dont wanna suffer with a headache like mine.. you know what to do..
using Smart wifi connection is a stupid thing to do.
January 18th, 2006 at 6:37 pm
It’s really hard to back out of the 1-year subscription because of the “penalties” and whatnots. If you really want to get more attention don’t hesitate to file complaints. It’s for the benefits of other subscribers para ma-improve naman nila yung services nila. There’s so much space for improvement and sometimes I wonder why PLDT (or Smart for that matter) is slow to take action.
January 19th, 2006 at 6:30 pm
well, ganyan talaga, konting dirty business para kumita… Let say gusto mo ipa transfer yung account mo from manila to province… ang terms nila, magbabayad ka ng 2000 pesos for relocation fee, then non refundable… at pagpunta mo sa bago mong location at walang signal ang so called “Smart Wi-Fi”, then kanila na 2000 pesos mo! MY GOD!!! Correct me if i’m wrong, pero based lang yun sa experience namin.
January 20th, 2006 at 8:40 pm
hi! ok.. for 10 days of following up my complaint i was able to force the schedulers of smart wifi to get the numbers of the installers here in Bacolod.. Well yes, i get to the point wherein Im threating everyone i get to talk with on the hotline.. Useless and tech support nila and schedulers coz i found out straight from the contractors that they do not follow up cases. DAmmmiiitt!!! and the thing is, the contractors has no idea about my case.. Grabe after all the tech supots promised me when the contractors are coming!!! the contractor showed me the smart portal.. busted!!! this people are really not doing their job.. the hell us customers dont get the service we deserve no matter how promptly we pay our bills.. Oh by the way, my next battle? Is to have a rebate on the bill I’m going to pay. I will not tolerate and just keep my mouth shut from not getting a quality service. Plus of course, I will not stop in trying to raise all my complaints hanggang di umabot sa smart authorities and even to the national telecommunication authorities. This shit has to go off the Philippines Telecommunications system.
If anyone find way or knows whereto submit more comments about smart wifi.. tap me in. thanks.
January 20th, 2006 at 8:48 pm
johmar Llonor.. man you are totally right. we experienced the same thing. We have to learn where the USEDC is based on our province talaga and coordinate with them ourselves kasi all we can get from the Customers Reps are just 2nd hand infos.. so tiring too to wait if you dont have speaker phone.. just imagine all the hasels di ba? duduguin ka talaga.. Ako nga ive been gritting my teeth in keeping my calm whenever i call, talagang i got tooth and headache from staying patient.. saklap.
January 25th, 2006 at 11:16 am
graaaaahhhh!!! stupid thing to do talaga ang smart wifi!! walang kwenta kung kelan mo kailangan walang connection mas lalo na kapag umuulan at pag gabi wala nang connection. nakakabwisit pang tumawag sa hotline nila talagang hot na talaga tenga ko sa kaka hintay ng 3-5 minutes nila… ipapapacify ka lang nalang nila with all those shitty things like “we have a technical difficulty right now in your area but we are going to try to solve the problem as best as we could” BULLSHIT!!!! im gonna tell this to all my friends. SMART WIFI sucks
January 26th, 2006 at 11:15 pm
hmm. sometimes mejo mabilis may times din na mabagal… in downloading some stuff it can be as low as 12.5 kbps. which is VERY low.
January 28th, 2006 at 4:41 pm
i think i have all the right to comment here because i’am one of the victims of smartwifi…. Smartwifi told us that they have the package of 256kbps (KAYA!!!!) at 998 per month and thats what we applied for an internet connection. Ang nangyayari dito ngayon i have to wake up early everyday to set my computer for my downloads…

update on my disconnection:
finally, I am not a subscriber of smart anymore.
Try Jeanette’s advice, it really works..The CSR whom I talked last january 10, 2006 informed me that they approved my termination without paying any pre-termination charges and they would rebate what I paid for my services(first month msf and installation fee, amounting to 1988)..
so I am happy now…told them they can pick up the canopy whenever they want to..
try the magic word of mediation..as tama sabi ni Jeanette, di na nila papaabutin rito at alam nila talo sila…
as long as you have all the required documentations, gagawan na nila ito ng action..(I emailed ntc and dti, and attached it to my complaint at q.ave service center)
so officially I am not a subscriber anymore of Smart…kukuha na ako ngayon ng bayantel service at may promo silang 256 KBPs with Service on Demand(512 KBPS) from 10pm-10 am…at least 1 day lang ng walang service, pwede mong irebate sa kanila ng 500 pesos….
January 30th, 2006 at 1:49 am

February 4th, 2006 at 4:51 pm
SMART WIFI …10 times slower that dial up! get disconnected now! Go to your nearest Smart Wireless Center! Unlimited time offer only!
February 5th, 2006 at 6:00 am
Madalas napuputol na lang bigla ang connection and sometimes it takes 3o minutes to reconnect.
February 5th, 2006 at 3:47 pm
WiFi standards are 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g. The radius of radio range for these standards was intended to be 30 meters and less. WiFi standards operate at frequencies of 2.4GHZ and 5GHz. Range is specifically lesser for 802.11a due to 5GHz operating frequency and line of propagation of signal connection. WiFi data transmission limits are 54Mbps for 802.11a and 802.11g, and 11Mbps for 802.11b. The power of transmission can not be more than 1 watt.
WiFi is short for wireless fidelity and is meant to be used generically when referring of any type of 802.11 network, whether 802.11b, 802.11a, dual-band, etc. The term is promulgated by the Wi-Fi Alliance.
Any products tested and approved as “Wi-Fi Certified” (a registered trademark) by the Wi-Fi Alliance are certified as interoperable with each other, even if they are from different manufacturers. A user with a “Wi-Fi Certified” product can use any brand of access point with any other brand of client hardware that also is certified. Typically, however, any Wi-Fi product using the same radio frequency (for example, 2.4GHz for 802.11b or 11g, 5GHz for 802.11a) will work with any other, even if not “Wi-Fi Certified.”
Formerly, the term “Wi-Fi” was used only in place of the 2.4GHz 802.11b standard, in the same way that “Ethernet” is used in place of IEEE 802.3. The Alliance expanded the generic use of the term in an attempt to stop confusion about wireless LAN interoperability.
WiFi is primarily designed for LAN applicaions between a wireless access point or wireless router and a client within a local area network. WiFi is not intended for wide area networks.
If SMART WiFi is really using WiFi according to standards, then some problems become inherent:
1- SMART will be jamming all wirless access point users all over the Philippines (i.e. LANs with wireless access points and clients).
2- The IP address range is limited from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255, and are not routable. This limits the client capacity of the network and the address is officially assigned only for internal networks, which WiFi access points uses.
3- 30 meter radius in not sufficient for wide area coverage.
The standards of WiFi should express its technological limitations. There is really NOT much to expect from SMART’s service if it is using standard WiFi. Otherwise, SMART should not be using the term WiFi if it does not abide by the WiFi standard because it is a registered trademark of the WiFi Alliance.

SMART ignores industry accepted definition of WiFi
WiFi, a term promulgated by WiFi alliance, is defined as “Short for wireless fidelity and is meant to be used generically when referring of any type of 802.11 network”. It is also known as 802.11 networking and wireless networking.
Smart Communications’ WiFi is totally different, it is a wireless broadband internet connection targetted for home users. According to Smart Website “Smart WiFi uses Broadband Wireless Access technology over the cellular phone network of Smart. A Smart WiFi antenna is installed at a specific location in your house with a “line-of-sight” to the nearest Smart cellsite.” The users can then connect to the Internet by connecting to the antenna using an ethernet cable and a LAN card.
Migs Paraz (http://migs.paraz.com/w/) was right, “in the Philippines WiFi is not synonymous to 802.11″.
The Philippines will once again become a laughing stock because of the ignorance of Smart Communications

Not only they murdered the term and definition of “Wifi” they also added insult to injury when PLDT used the term “DSL-wireless“. PLDT and Smart is using these terms for marketing only but holds no real meaning to their services.
February 7th, 2006 at 1:05 pm
February 10th, 2006 at 5:22 pm
Quoted from MV:
“Not only they murdered the term and definition of “Wifi” they also added insult to injury when PLDT used the term “DSL-wireless“. PLDT and Smart is using these terms for marketing only but holds no real meaning to their services.”
Not so much about the murder of the terms “WiFi” and “DSL” which breaches trademarks indiscriminately… The service name “Smart WiFi” is absolutely MISLEADING to both the technically oriented and un-oriented alike, promoting the INCORRECT use of terms and effectively obscuring intended ideas in communications of the relevant technologies. These in effect make laymen (who do not do their homework) believe that they are using the right term for the right technology.
The bad effect is when these “laymen” start talking about WiFi and not meaning the real WiFi (There is only one WiFi, and people who use the term should be aware). Listeners who know about the real WiFi will find the layman rather amusing! And as another blogger puts it: “The Philippines will once again become a laughing stock because of the ignorance of Smart Communications” (See comments numbers 22 and 23).
No offence to the subscribers of Smart WiFi mislead by the name. It is just proper to be informed and use the correct terminology for the intended meaning. With hopes that this opportunity served its purpose, let NOT the Philippines become a laughing stock. I, a Filipino, by origin and by destination.

February 17th, 2006 at 9:36 pm
Different marketing, same technology… and most probably, the same technical support. After all Smart is a wholly owned subsidiary company of PLDT.
February 23rd, 2006 at 12:35 pm
smart wifi true it really is a pain on the nerve..plus their technical support people, all they know is to base their answer on the pc that they are looking into..i really have regrets of getting a smart wifi…the dial up of pldt with a phone is better than this one for only P840 u have a pldt line and an unlimited dial up internet already…Yah! this is wireless but when it rains or the wind blows your signal shuts down..it is really stressfull…i am cancelling it already but they would always say that there will be people from merridian who would look after it…but to no avail…if i were with smart,it should not promote such a system like this if it is not really for the benefit of many…so slow than dial up…its good i have an alternate internet because for months now since day 1 that they installed this they had changed my antenna till the last week canopy “ekkk ekkk” which they say that if one base station is down u have an alternative…this is all false hopes..not any of the base stations are working,,,as in they are all down..so if i were you don;t get a wireless internet..u will get old by 10 years…it suckkkks!!!!
February 24th, 2006 at 3:28 pm

February 27th, 2006 at 11:09 pm
malaki din problem ko sa smartwifi na to, para mabawasan lang ng konti yung limited or no connectivity try nyo i-fix ung last working ip add. un nga lang minsan talagang walang signal. nakaka-sawa kasi ung sinasabi nila na ipconfig, palpak naman.

I’m a new user of Smart Wifi. Actually, the antenna was installed only a few hours ago. After reading all of your comments, napaisip tuloy ako. Well, I think Smart Wifi really sucks.
I’m from San Pedro, Laguna and the antenna installer guys are really unprofessional. Their not that magalang. They talk like ka-age lang nila yung client. They act like they know everything pero halata namang basic knowledge lang alam nila sa mga PCs. I’m not a graduate of any computer course but I think I already know whether my PC can run the Wifi or not. I have a Pentium 4 1.6ghz, 640mb ram, 64mb vidcard, a onboard lan card, Win98SE and 6gigabytes of hard disk space. How dare they say “Noy, mabagal PC mo, ipareformat mo na lang para bumilis. Ang panget eh, ang bagal ng internet.” I think its really the internet connection that sucks! Not my PC! And those damn guys, their not even in their uniforms. I’m expecting professional technicians not those freaks. They don’t even know how to setup the internet. Then they told us, we need to pay them additional P500 for them to upgrade our antenna’s height to 10 more feet but its actually only a few feet difference. And the internet connection is still the same old slow.
The internet connection really sucks! I’m updating my online game Gunz, its been 4 hours and its still 0.9 percent. Whoa! That’s what they call 256kbps! That’s great! Real fast… (stupid!) Damn Smart! F**k Smart!
Oh, I really wish I have read this forum before we decided to signup with that damn Smart Wifi. Smart Telecommunications is really smart at earning profits on their helpless subscribers. NTC should be doing something to this issue.
- a very unhappy client from San Pedro, Laguna
March 1st, 2006 at 5:15 pm
Sa wakas! After 100++ tries (100++ “The page cannot be displayed”), 45mins++ of waiting, at last nakapagpost din ako! That was fast! Galing talaga ng Smart Wifi! The best! Ang bilis! Mahusay!
March 1st, 2006 at 8:55 pm

March 12th, 2006 at 4:12 am
defual ip add ng smart wifi un!! alam nio ba>> 136.???.?.? d ko kc alam eh
March 12th, 2006 at 6:54 am
I only get the Internet connection to work a few minutes a day. It will cut my connection off with no warning. I agree with the other people the connection really SUCKS and I have ask and they will not let me out of my contract. If they would let everyone out of the contracts they would have no customers. To do it over again I wish I had never heard of them. Again this service SUCKS do not get it or you will be very sorry in do time. At first it was good then in a few weeks it got worse.
March 14th, 2006 at 7:25 pm
I dont know about you guys but why are you all so heated up? I’m sure u smart guys / gals researched on the smart wifi product before applying for it.unless of course naunahan kayo ng kaexcitan nyo.. so, in that case, whose fault is it? It’s not that I’m siding with smart..the hell, I once asked for remote access assistance until i got forwarded to their manager daw… no help was given till I managed to do it on my own… The problem is, engot ang mga staff nila at ang mga installers ay nagmamadali.. baka naman, di pa properly grounded ang antena nyo?
Here is a tip in which you could enjoy your connection better like what i am doing.. so far, 1 disconnection for 3 months now.. with average of 320-380kbps…
1) Make sure ur antena/canopy is directed with line of sight sa isang smart tower.
2) Make sure the antena/canopy is grounded properly(un ang gamit nung patusok na bakal.
3) make sure sealed ang mga cables and di naiipit.
4) whenever you get problems with connection, remember the 169.254.1.1 site which the technician used to register ur canopy? daming tools dun…
5) if all else fails, try relogging in sa account. pero if di makapasok sa portal, madaming makakalingkot sa 168.254.1.1 believe me…

smart service sucks big time!!!! i am really dissapointed fofr the service that they are providing.. if only i knew, i wouldnt waste my money for a very bad service….theres is nothing good about smart wifi.. iam tired of all calls i make when ever i have no signal from smart.
March 16th, 2006 at 9:57 am
oh the WIFI woes, if i may add…yeah you are right the are still in the beta stage, in this changing times of technology however you try to mask, call, or packge your service it still is wifi…you cant expect that much from the speed upstream or downstream from this technology….lot of factors affect it, you got your weather, humidity and so on..remember you are communicating through line of sight…but end of the day if this providers be straight forward in tellin you guys that they themselve are still in the dark about what they actually then they cant sucker for their said services…
bottom line ….nothing can still beat traditional hardwire dsl connectivity
chill it aint the end of the world yet….its just you guys were suckered through the savy techy term of so called WIFI….hearing the term alone make you feel techy savy…hehehehe “oh yeah am on WIFI” sound nice to the ear right…even big corporate bosses, CEO’s wanted the entire office networks converted to WIFI when this thing came into mainstream a few years back…..honestly it still is CRAP…;)
PEACE
March 17th, 2006 at 2:11 pm
Some objection to Peace’s comments on comment item number 50:
Smart WiFi may not really be WiFi in its standards. This information is not obvious to me due that I am not one of Smart’s network engineers, but I personally suspect that it is not WiFi in its established standards. Please see comment lines numbers 22 to 26.
In fairness to WiFi, the real WiFi, the technology does not suck and neither is it crap. 802.11 WiFi is not in its BETA stage since many years ago when 802.11b was published.
802.11g WiFi has 54Mbps peak data transfer rate which is more than five times the best connection attained in a broadband service. The best broadband service is 10 Mbps in its peak and can only be attained if you are lucky enough along with the best equipment and best connection structures. Most broadband services average at 700 Kbps to 2Mbps, which is just around 3% of data transfer rates of WiFi. On busy services, sometimes 700 Kbps is even difficult to achieve.
802.11 WiFi is designed for use in the endpoint of a WAN and only for interconnection of LAN nodes. Proper applications of WiFi are limited to local area networking. If one does not even have a local area network with internal IP address assignments, then it is very doubtful that WiFi is even implemented in the network. Not because one is wirelessly connected to the internet proves that the connection is genuine WiFi.
There is only one WiFi standard, and if a network architecture is not abiding the established WiFi standards with regards to its devices, design, and configurations, then it is not WiFi. Neither is it privileged to use the term WiFi, as WiFi is a registered trademark of the WiFi Alliance. The term should only be used according to its intended definition.
802.11 is what is called WiFi, and to this date comes in four flavors: 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11g, and 802.11i. I already have some short discussions on this 802.11 WiFi standard in previous posts and reading is recommended. I shall not do a lengthy discussion on this topic but further information is widely available in the internet if desired.
Do not be mislead by Smart’s indiscriminate use of the term WiFi, and conclude that WiFi technology is crap.
On the other hand, not only is WiFi cool due to the name, it makes local area networking so flexible in terms of wireless domains, and it also provides very secure wireless links between access points and clients with the WPA encryption implementations.
By the way, to date, there is no known crack to the WPA encryption, and I doubt that Smart’s wireless access is even encrypted.

i noticed nobody ever mentioned about the FREE 3rd month promo of Smart Wifi last November-December 2005. I availed of said promo but after many exchanges with Customer Care of Smart, they still insist I pay my 3rd month subscription, which of course I refused to do so. So, now they are telling me I will get disconnected. In my last email to Smart, I also cc complaint@ntc.gov.ph and cwd-btrcp@dti.dti.gov.ph. I am also inclined to seek the assistance of Imbestigador, Mike Enriquez’ team, to investigate Smart bec. I might not be the only having problems with their FREE 3rd month promo, aside from the numerous complaints of no or limited connectivity. Anybody else wants to join forces with me?

March 19th, 2006 at 8:16 pm
Nung una talagang sabik akong magkaroon ng internet connection sa bahay para magamit ko ng unlimited…so nagpakabit ako ng wifi ng smart, nung installation day di kami nakaconnect nung contractor kasi naka-down daw ang site nung araw na yon so kampante pa rin ako pagkatapos binalikan nila ako kinabukasan at naka-connect namin kami…nung mga few days ayos naman connection so mabilis sya no pero mantakin mo ba naman pagkatapos lang ng ilang araw bumagal speed!!!!…. doon na ako nabuwiset sa Wifi nila….kaya kung may balak kayo magpalagay at naeengangyo magpakabit….WAG NA..WAG NA..DAHIL DI NAMAN NINYO MAPAPAPUTOL YAN HANGGAT WALANG ISANG TAON!!!!…GAGATASAN LANG NILA KAYO AT BUBUWISTIN KAYO NG ISANG BUONG TAON DAHIL SA BAGAL AT PABAGO-BAGO NG SPEED CONNECTION.
March 20th, 2006 at 7:02 am
very well explained NPCD you’ve nailed the point across about the misuse of the term WIFI…which in this case the SMART provider has exploited as marketing point for the savy tech way it sounds, i suppose. Well thats just how i look it, as to my point about WIFI being crap…well it still cant replace your 10/100 speed or gigabit hardwire data transfer when are on a high data volume production network
March 21st, 2006 at 10:53 am

With reference to comment number 56 by R3DQU33n:
Your point well taken R3DQU33n… Your hypothesis of SMART’s intentions may all well be true! It surely seems to be very conclusive. Who knows?
I should publish my objective to make sense of my comments. I aim to inform wireless network users to know what WiFi is, and know what to expect from WiFi technology along with its technological limitations. I encourage reading more about WiFi if desired, so no more than SMART is using the term WiFi indiscriminately. Correct information is a prerequisite to effective communications.
Still in defense of WiFi technology, and without offence to R3DQU33n’s opinion in comment number 56:
802.11 (Wireless Ethernet or WiFi) is not a replacement nor is designed to completely replace 802.3 (10/100/1000 Wired Ethernet). In my opinion, 802.11 WiFi is to augment a sector of a LAN for wireless convenience. That is why most if not all 802.11 WiFi access point devices also incorporate 802.3 switches to accommodate wired Ethernet in the LAN topography and vise versa.
802.11 WiFi access point devices is in most cases, is completely dependent to the availability of 802.3 (10/100/1000 Wired Ethernet). This also proves that 802.11 WiFi, in most of the cases, is dependent to 802.3 (10/100/1000 Wired Ethernet). I do not think there is a WiFi access point device that does not have RJ45 jacks for attaching the 10/100/1000 Wired Ethernet.
As to the data transfer capacity of 802.11 WiFi compared to 802.3 10/100/1000 Wired Ethernet, there is no fair match and the margins are substantial. 54Mbps versus 1000 Mbps… Wow! It appears that there is no beneficial purpose to compare the two standards against each other with regards to their data transfer capacities. But the 54 Mbps data transfer capacity of WiFi can fully accommodate the broadband internet traffic at its best peak of 10Mbps.
It is just the convenience and the security of the link of that convenience that gives 802.11 WiFi its advantage over 802.3 10/100/1000 Wired Ethernet.
Just for the mention: My network implements both 802.11 and 802.3 standards within one subnet. Servers and desktops linked with hardwire, and portables with WiFi (while pretending to be working with the laptop though watching the sunset on the porch).
And again, your point well taken R3DQU33n. Cheers!

TIPS FOR DOWNLOADING:
.use download manager, kramihan kc sa mga users ay d gumagamit ng download managers kya minsan unstable download speeds nila.recomended download manager(free download manager 2.0)safe yan at walang spyware.NOTE:dont use DAP adware yan, ones n installed mahirap ng tanggalin.kung may ibang tanong at kung san nyo mddownload yan just text me at 09287942744,bawal txtmate or email me at nax_graveyard@yahoo.com

TO: ALL SMART WIFI SUBSCRIBER
Worry no more guys, Rep. Manuel “Way Kurat” Zamora is on your side, he also is a Smart Wifi subscriber that has been having headaches with his internet connection since it was installed and it’s frequent basestation technical activities. his employee called the hotline to inquire how to terminate their subscription and he was shocked to be informed that they are required to pay the pretermination fee even that his internet connection only gave him headaches. so instead of arguing with a CSR/TSR, he made a bill and raised it to the congress to make an investigation about this matter since he was also informed that the number of complaints the NTC is receiving is very alarming..
MABUHAY! KA WAY KURAT, SANA INVESTIGAHAN YAN NG MAS MAAGA! PARA MALAMAN LAHAT NG WIFI USERS KUNG ANO BA TALAGA ANG ANOMALYA DYAN SA SMART COMPANY! >>>>>> ADD NYO NAMAN AKO SA YAHOO MESSENGER NYO MGA BRO PARA KAPAG NAKAONLINE AKO PAGUSAPAN NATIN YANG BULOK NA SISTEMA NG SMART WIFI(”,) sammy_gfx_arts@yahoo.com (boys and girls lng po bawal ang bading) hehehe

April 22nd, 2006 at 2:19 am
hahahaha, SHIT WIFI,
lahat ng tao ginagawang tanga, pati mga installer at agent nila hindi binabayaran, kaya nga nag hire sila ng installer and sales agent with per client commission only per recruit para mapagtakpan ang BAHO ng kanilang systema, sa installer nila pinapasa ang problema at bini BLAME, ni hindi pa nila binabayaran ng maayos. ibang klase talagang kalaswaan ang ginagawa ng SHIT na company ng SMART. dapat kasuhan na sila sa Department of LAbor nito, abuse usage of manpower.
April 22nd, 2006 at 2:46 am
SMART ang sama nyo,
I worked with smart/meridian as startup installer, of course at starting dami problema kaC starting pa, kaya pala ni hired nila kami para masira lang ang pangalan namin sa mga tao because of the problem na ma eencouter sa start up, after a given time na medyo plantado na ang mga gusot sa company nila pinalayas na nila kami with thier team, at BROADCAST sa community na nagkaka problema kaC mga palpak daw ang mga installation namin, HAHAHHA DATI naman palpak ang system nyo BULOK, nagamit nyo nga kami, hindi lang lakas at kakayahan namin including moral and dignity, kami ang pinasalo nyo sa maduming systema nyo at sa start up implementation nyo, graB talaga to, HINDI PA naman kami binabayaran, F*** ginawa nyo kaming tanga, sainyo na yan mga management ng smart double ang balik sa inyo sa ginawa ninyo samin. SINIRA NYO pangalan namin.
April 22nd, 2006 at 3:08 am
Smart WIFI, Meridian Broadband, PLDT MyDSL wireless iisa lang yan, pareho lang yan lahat isang systema, DAting meridian, mas mabuti pa sa meridian at first subrang bilis pa umaabot pa ng 1.6MBPS ang 288kbps nila, later turnover to smart, si meridian hindi na mag sales sa system, ang incharge sa sales na ay ang smart at PLDT, si meridian sa techninical nalang, at tht time may mga gusot na, until totaly turn over na sa smart ang meridian, binili na raw 100% ng smart ang meridian, Hawak na ng mga engineer ng smart ang technical at system ng Meridian, GraB dami ng problema nagkagulo na lahat, e nagtanong ako sa head SNC ng smart sa area namin if ano ang speed ng internet nila ahhhh alam nyo anong sagot nya 100Mbps dawwww HAHAHAHA, wala ngang ka alam alam, speed capability ng LANDCARD ang sinabi nya, kaya pala nagkaganito mga pulpul pala mga engineer nila. ito pa isa, ang frist antenna nila ay capable up to 5 km. kukuha pasa Quality signal nila na 45 SNR at 60 RSL, ang old antenna nila na bulok ay di stable pero may kakayahan up to 5 km, then ni replace nila ng canopy ng motorola mas stable na device in terms of link but capable only up to 2.5 km. So of course dati nilang client beyond that 2.5 km na ni replace nila ng new antenna na motorola canopy cannot link anymore beacuse of the distance. smart BULOK, BULOK pa kayo sa malansang ISDA. GISING NA KAYO

DNS Report for meridiantelecoms.com
Generated by http://www.DNSreport.com at 12:56:10 GMT on 25 Apr 2006.
Category Status Test Name Information
Parent PASS Missing Direct Parent check OK. Your direct parent zone exists, which is good. Some domains (usually third or fourth level domains, such as example.co.us) do not have a direct parent zone (’co.us’ in this example), which is legal but can cause confusion.
INFO NS records at parent servers Your NS records at the parent servers are:
ns.123-reg.co.uk. [212.67.202.2 (NO GLUE)] [GB]
ns2.123-reg.co.uk. [212.67.203.246 (NO GLUE)] [GB]
[These were obtained from m.gtld-servers.net]
PASS Parent nameservers have your nameservers listed OK. When someone uses DNS to look up your domain, the first step (if it doesn’t already know about your domain) is to go to the parent servers. If you aren’t listed there, you can’t be found. But you are listed there.
WARN Glue at parent nameservers WARNING. The parent servers (I checked with m.gtld-servers.net.) are not providing glue for all your nameservers. This means that they are supplying the NS records (host.example.com), but not supplying the A records (192.0.2.53), which can cause slightly slower connections, and may cause incompatibilities with some non-RFC-compliant programs. This is perfectly acceptable behavior per the RFCs. This will usually occur if your DNS servers are not in the same TLD as your domain (for example, a DNS server of “ns1.example.org” for the domain “example.com”). In this case, you can speed up the connections slightly by having NS records that are in the same TLD as your domain.
PASS DNS servers have A records OK. All your DNS servers either have A records at the zone parent servers, or do not need them (if the DNS servers are on other TLDs). A records are required for your hostnames to ensure that other DNS servers can reach your DNS servers. Note that there will be problems if your DNS servers do not have these same A records.
NS INFO NS records at your nameservers Your NS records at your nameservers are:
ns2.hosteurope.com.
ns.hosteurope.com.
PASS Open DNS servers OK. Your DNS servers do not announce that they are open DNS servers. Although there is a slight chance that they really are open DNS servers, this is very unlikely. Open DNS servers increase the chances that of cache poisoning, can degrade performance of your DNS, and can cause your DNS servers to be used in an attack (so it is good that your DNS servers do not appear to be open DNS servers).
PASS Mismatched glue OK. The DNS report did not detect any discrepancies between the glue provided by the parent servers and that provided by your authoritative DNS servers.
PASS No NS A records at nameservers OK. Your nameservers do include corresponding A records when asked for your NS records. This ensures that your DNS servers know the A records corresponding to all your NS records.
PASS All nameservers report identical NS records OK. The NS records at all your nameservers are identical.
PASS All nameservers respond OK. All of your nameservers listed at the parent nameservers responded.
PASS Nameserver name validity OK. All of the NS records that your nameservers report seem valid (no IPs or partial domain names).
PASS Number of nameservers OK. You have 2 nameservers. You must have at least 2 nameservers (RFC2182 section 5 recommends at least 3 nameservers), and preferably no more than 7.
PASS Lame nameservers OK. All the nameservers listed at the parent servers answer authoritatively for your domain.
FAIL Missing (stealth) nameservers FAIL: You have one or more missing (stealth) nameservers. The following nameserver(s) are listed (at your nameservers) as nameservers for your domain, but are not listed at the the parent nameservers (therefore, they may or may not get used, depending on whether your DNS servers return them in the authority section for other requests, per RFC2181 5.4.1). You need to make sure that these stealth nameservers are working; if they are not responding, you may have serious problems! The DNS Report will not query these servers, so you need to be very careful that they are working properly.
ns2.hosteurope.com.ns.hosteurope.com.
This is listed as an ERROR because there are some cases where nasty problems can occur (if the TTLs vary from the NS records at the root servers and the NS records point to your own domain, for example).
FAIL Missing nameservers 2 ERROR: One or more of the nameservers listed at the parent servers are not listed as NS records at your nameservers. The problem NS records are:
ns.123-reg.co.uk.
ns2.123-reg.co.uk.
PASS No CNAMEs for domain OK. There are no CNAMEs for meridiantelecoms.com. RFC1912 2.4 and RFC2181 10.3 state that there should be no CNAMEs if an NS (or any other) record is present.
PASS No NSs with CNAMEs OK. There are no CNAMEs for your NS records. RFC1912 2.4 and RFC2181 10.3 state that there should be no CNAMEs if an NS (or any other) record is present.
WARN Nameservers on separate class C’s WARNING: We cannot test to see if your nameservers are all on the same Class C (technically, /24) range, because the root servers are not sending glue. We plan to add such a test later, but today you will have to manually check to make sure that they are on separate Class C ranges. Your nameservers should be at geographically dispersed locations. You should not have all of your nameservers at the same location. RFC2182 3.1 goes into more detail about secondary nameserver location.
PASS All NS IPs public OK. All of your NS records appear to use public IPs. If there were any private IPs, they would not be reachable, causing DNS delays.
PASS TCP Allowed OK. All your DNS servers allow TCP connections. Although rarely used, TCP connections are occasionally used instead of UDP connections. When firewalls block the TCP DNS connections, it can cause hard-to-diagnose problems.
INFO Nameservers versions Your nameservers have the following versions:
212.67.202.2: “9.2.2-P3″
212.67.203.246: “9.2.2-P3″
FAIL Stealth NS record leakage Your DNS servers leak stealth information in non-NS requests:
Stealth nameservers are leaked [ns2.hosteurope.com.]!
Stealth nameservers are leaked [ns.hosteurope.com.]!
This can cause some serious problems (especially if there is a TTL discrepancy). If you must have stealth NS records (NS records listed at the authoritative DNS servers, but not the parent DNS servers), you should make sure that your DNS server does not leak the stealth NS records in response to other queries.
SOA INFO SOA record Your SOA record [TTL=86400] is:
Primary nameserver: ns.hosteurope.com.
Hostmaster E-mail address: hostmaster.meridiantelecoms.com.
Serial #: 2005042501
Refresh: 86400
Retry: 3600
Expire: 1209600
Default TTL: 86400
PASS NS agreement on SOA serial # OK. All your nameservers agree that your SOA serial number is 2005042501. That means that all your nameservers are using the same data (unless you have different sets of data with the same serial number, which would be very bad)! Note that the DNS Report only checks the NS records listed at the parent servers (not any stealth servers).
WARN SOA MNAME Check WARNING: Your SOA (Start of Authority) record states that your master (primary) name server is: ns.hosteurope.com.. However, that server is not listed at the parent servers as one of your NS records! This is probably legal, but you should be sure that you know what you are doing.
PASS SOA RNAME Check OK. Your SOA (Start of Authority) record states that your DNS contact E-mail address is: hostmaster@meridiantelecoms.com. (techie note: we have changed the initial ‘.’ to an ‘@’ for display purposes).
PASS SOA Serial Number OK. Your SOA serial number is: 2005042501. This appears to be in the recommended format of YYYYMMDDnn, where ‘nn’ is the revision. For example, if you are making the 3rd change on 02 May 2000, you would use 2000050203. This number must be incremented every time you make a DNS change.
WARN SOA REFRESH value WARNING: Your SOA REFRESH interval is : 86400 seconds. This seems high. You should consider decreasing this value to about 3600-7200 seconds (or higher, if using DNS NOTIFY). RFC1912 2.2 recommends a value between 1200 to 43200 seconds (20 minutes to 12 hours, with the longer time periods used for very slow Internet connections), and if you are using DNS NOTIFY the refresh value is not as important (RIPE recommend 86400 seconds if using DNS NOTIFY). This value determines how often secondary/slave nameservers check with the master for updates. A value that is too high will cause DNS changes to be in limbo for a long time.
PASS SOA RETRY value OK. Your SOA RETRY interval is : 3600 seconds. This seems normal (about 120-7200 seconds is good). The retry value is the amount of time your secondary/slave nameservers will wait to contact the master nameserver again if the last attempt failed.
PASS SOA EXPIRE value OK. Your SOA EXPIRE time: 1209600 seconds. This seems normal (about 1209600 to 2419200 seconds (2-4 weeks) is good). RFC1912 suggests 2-4 weeks. This is how long a secondary/slave nameserver will wait before considering its DNS data stale if it can’t reach the primary nameserver.
PASS SOA MINIMUM TTL value OK. Your SOA MINIMUM TTL is: 86400 seconds. This seems normal (about 3,600 to 86400 seconds or 1-24 hours is good). RFC2308 suggests a value of 1-3 hours. This value used to determine the default (technically, minimum) TTL (time-to-live) for DNS entries, but now is used for negative caching.
MX INFO MX Record Your 2 MX records are:
10 mx0.123-reg.co.uk. [TTL=86400] IP=195.224.48.124 (No Glue) [TTL=38510] [GB]
20 mx1.123-reg.co.uk. [TTL=86400] IP=195.224.48.124 (No Glue) [TTL=14630] [GB]
PASS Low port test OK. Our local DNS server that uses a low port number can get your MX record. Some DNS servers are behind firewalls that block low port numbers. This does not guarantee that your DNS server does not block low ports, but is a good indication that it does not.
PASS Invalid characters OK. All of your MX records appear to use valid hostnames, without any invalid characters.
PASS All MX IPs public OK. All of your MX records appear to use public IPs. If there were any private IPs, they would not be reachable, causing slight mail delays, extra resource usage, and possibly bounced mail.
PASS MX records are not CNAMEs OK. Looking up your MX record did not just return a CNAME. If an MX record query returns a CNAME, extra processing is required, and some mail servers may not be able to handle it.
PASS MX A lookups have no CNAMEs OK. There appear to be no CNAMEs returned for A records lookups from your MX records (CNAMEs are prohibited in MX records, according to RFC974, RFC1034 3.6.2, RFC1912 2.4, and RFC2181 10.3).
PASS MX is host name, not IP OK. All of your MX records are host names (as opposed to IP addresses, which are not allowed in MX records).
PASS Multiple MX records OK. You have multiple MX records. This means that if one is down or unreachable, the other(s) will be able to accept mail for you.
PASS Differing MX-A records OK. I did not detect differing IPs for your MX records (this would happen if your DNS servers return different IPs than the DNS servers that are authoritative for the hostname in your MX records).
FAIL Duplicate MX records WARNING: You have duplicate MX records. This means that mailservers may try delivering mail to the same IP more than once. Although technically valid, this is very confusing, and wastes resources. The duplicate MX records are:
mx0.123-reg.co.uk. and mx1.123-reg.co.uk. both resolve to 195.224.48.124.
PASS Reverse DNS entries for MX records OK. The IPs of all of your mail server(s) have reverse DNS (PTR) entries. RFC1912 2.1 says you should have a reverse DNS for all your mail servers. It is strongly urged that you have them, as many mailservers will not accept mail from mailservers with no reverse DNS entry. Note that this information is cached, so if you changed it recently, it will not be reflected here (see the http://www.DNSstuff.com Reverse DNS Tool for the current data). The reverse DNS entries are:
124.48.224.195.in-addr.arpa three.mx.123-reg.co.uk. [TTL=14647]
124.48.224.195.in-addr.arpa three.mx.123-reg.co.uk. [TTL=14647]
Mail FAIL Connect to mail servers ERROR: I could not complete a connection to any of your mailservers!
ERROR: mx0.123-reg.co.uk Greeting indicates server is down: 421 Too many concurrent SMTP connections; please try again later. .
ERROR: mx1.123-reg.co.uk Greeting indicates server is down: 421 Too many concurrent SMTP connections; please try again later. .
mx0.123-reg.co.uk: Timed out [Last data sent: HELO test.DNSreport.com ]
mx1.123-reg.co.uk: Timed out [Last data sent: HELO test.DNSreport.com ]
If this is a timeout problem, note that the DNS report only waits about 40 seconds for responses, so your mail may work fine in this case but you will need to use testing tools specifically designed for such situations.
WWW
INFO WWW Record Your http://www.meridiantelecoms.com A record is:
http://www.meridiantelecoms.com. A 195.224.48.90 [TTL=86400] [GB]
PASS All WWW IPs public OK. All of your WWW IPs appear to be public IPs. If there were any private IPs, they would not be reachable, causing problems reaching your web site.
PASS CNAME Lookup OK. Some domains have a CNAME record for their WWW server that requires an extra DNS lookup, which slightly delays the initial access to the website and use extra bandwidth. There are no CNAMEs for http://www.meridiantelecoms.com, which is good.
Legend:
Rows with a FAIL indicate a problem that in most cases really should be fixed.
Rows with a WARN indicate a possible minor problem, which often is not worth pursuing.
Note that all information is accessed in real-time (except where noted), so this is the freshest information about your domain.

Hello dear readers. If you’re not aware yet, SMART Wifi is now SMART Bro. My entry about its rebranding can be found here.

smart wifi has really gotten into my nerves. Imagine, i couldnt connect for 5 days. Not to mention the times i called for their assistance over the phone, having gone over countless of useless troubleshooting and having me wait for a call within 24 hrs from their “higher technical admin rep” that became 48 hours and then never came. so after 5 grueling days i finally had a connection, but the speed was so slow and unstable. i called them up again but the representative just had me download a prog that i should email their tech dept once i am experiencing slow connection while downloading. “My concern”, i said, ” is how come the connection is slower and more unstable that what i was having before?” And the rep was out of an answer that will give me hope. And then i opened the newspaper and saw SMART BRO, SMART BROADBAND. And u can see from the advertisement that smart wifi was also included but it was in faded look, that suddenly it made sense to me why i was experiencing this bad connection. smart is really smart. they give you good connection at first then make u bind to them for 1 year then make the connection slow while introducing a NEW broadband service promising faster speed, which if u would want to avail, u would have to pay a disconnection fee from ur old smart wifi. smart talaga! nautakan tayo!

Hi guys just found this webbie when i typed “smart wifi sucks” at a popular search engine. My comment HELL F*CKING YEA!!! SMART WIFI F*CKING SUCKS! Damn.. Alvin you’re one lucky guy to get rid of the service. Teach me! Imma rant about my frustration with the service since im so pissed right now. Number 1 mistake.. Im a gamer and i subscribed to smart wifi. BAD F*CKING MOVE! Talk about intermittent connection! SH*T I get disconnected every 15 F*CKING MINUTES! That really sux ass since im an online gamer. This happens from around 10am onwards and goes away after midnight. Talk about peak hours. Now i cant read all the comments on this page cuz im too lazy. But when i scanned the page, I saw numerous accounts of disgust to the service. Shit, its so obvious that smart “bro” (should be dumb “shittyconnection”) dosent live up to our expectations. Well my reaction is a big FUCK YOU SMART .l.
Oh by the way, tatagalugin ko nalang. Peace all. FU smart.

guys.. i’m using Smart WiFi.. I’m from cavite.. Hindi naman ako nagkakaproblema with the service lately.. my browser conforms to my mouse clicks.. Pag nagclick ako, andun na agad.. My download rate is about 10x faster than dial up.. (meron dowload manager siyempre)..
Anyway, wala naman kayong mapapala sa message ko kung puro reklamo ang ilalagay ko so please do check out my infos below…
I Have Some Tips Here kung Paano Maoptimize ang inyong Subscription sa Smart WiFi..
First of all.. Sasabihin ng Smart sa inyo that they will seek the feasibility of your place.. kung sinabi nilang hindi pwede sa lugar ninyo, wag pilitin. (may kakilala kasi ako nagsusuffer dahil pinilit magpakabit)
Pigilan ang excitement.. Think before you act.. marami kasing excited makapag online agad without knowing the Pros and Cons of the subject matter..
I prefer Mozilla Firefox than IE kasi mas maraming security options.. It eats up lots of memory.. (alam niyo na siguro yun)
With regards to speed, specifically with downloading, gumamit ng download managers.. marami diyan nagkalat..
Run them at least once a month together with Defrag.. kadalasan, sinisisi natin ang connection kahit ung Pc na mismo ang may problema..
Always perform a disk cleanup..
Nawawala ang connection (98% of the time here in Cavite) kapag umuulan, bumabagyo, esp. kumikidlat na para kang nakunan ng stolen shot sa isang camera.. Napapansin niyo siguro ganun din sa mga cellphone (message sending failed) with the same weather conditions..
I try ipconfig blah blah sa command prompt.. it’s not working..
- LAN LED is constantly blinking endlessly;
- STATIC yung LAN at WLAN LEDS (naka on lang); and
- WLAN is blinking at nakaOFF ang LAN LED..
a. Go to COntrol Panel then Network Connections.
b. Right Click sa connection ng wiFi then DISABLE.
c. turn off yung device then turn it on after at least a minute..
d. Balik kayo sa Network Connections then Right Click sa connection then ENABLE niyo ulit..
Kung hindi gumana ito,, after (a),(b),and (c), Restart niyo muna PC then turn on yung device then step (d)..
I do this kapag hindi ako makaconnect and it succeeds 99% of the time.. it somehow refreshes your connection..
Delete all cookies, temporary files na nasa Temp Folder (hidden yun, search niyo nalang), Internet Files, tsaka History ng browser every after session to avoid potential spywares or Adwares..
But I didn’t bitch out yung flaws nung plan.. Search for solutions first.. Alam ko bago lang ang ganitong Techies sa bansa natin ang it takes about 2-3 years to fully develop something here sa Pinas.. After 3 months na puno ng Technical Problems, I somehow knew how to live with it.. I seldom experience connection problems..
I Hope This Helps.. Kung may iba kayong gustong malaman about this topic or anything else about PC’s, email me at iebotor@yahoo.com
May 10th, 2006 at 1:05 pm
yup thats ryt
May 11th, 2006 at 8:54 pm
May 12th, 2006 at 12:10 am
sana magawan nila ng paraan na maging ok ung connection nila ok lng sana kung mahina or mabagal ang connection eh bsta d lng sya always mag disconnect kc nakaka asar pag nsa kasarapan kana ng game eh na dc amf naglalaro kc ako pangya nagpapalvl sa versus tpos bigla dc wala kana exp sayang pa oras mo. pro dba dati ganda connection natin walang dc pro mkakatikan ka ng araw na walang internet mas ma take ko pa na may araw na walang internet bsta pag merong internet d lng sya mag disconnect sa in the future gaganda connection kc dumikit na kc sa 1 yr contract eh nkaka 2month pa lng kami T_T

these is the steps before calling the customer care of smart wifi/bro…
if limited or no connectivity..
-clear cache kayo..
-disable lan..
-unplug cables to the adapter for 1 minute..
-after 1 minute plug again the cables..
-shutdown pc for 10 seconds..
-then turn on pc..
-enable lan..
-check the browser, kung my connection na kayo..
-kung wala, check nyo yung ip address..
-kung 169 series…mag release and renew kayo ng ip..
-in windows xp…
start–>run–>type–>cmd then enter
ipconfig space /release…be sure na yung ip address is 0 series..
then ipconfig space /renew..dapat ang makuha nyong ip address is 192.168.232.x…ung x any numbers un..
-in windows 98..
start–>run–>type winipcfg then enter…
or in run–>type–>command then enter..
the type:
ipconfig space /release_all..then
ipconfig space /renew_all..then enter…
-then kung ayaw marenew ng ip address..its time to call the customer care..
IN COMMAND PROMPT:
type–>ping 10.0.0.1-0%loss dapat..
ping 192.168.224.1-0%loss din dapat..
kapag yung dalawang yan eh 100%loss/request time out/unreachable..connection nyo sa antenna at gateway ang may problem…
kung both ok yung dalawa…

Tang inang smart wifi yan! ..A common phrase i say when i get disconnected from battlenet. I was simply enjoying my game when i got disconnected. Then i call smart wifi again then they say someone will call me back. NO ONE calls me back and history repeats itself every 30 minutes.
Shit pare sayang oras ko sa phone talking with them.. Im really in deep shit here. Pero never ako naging irate. Smart, magnanakaw kayo. Yan ay totoo. Im willing to pay for good service, but i cant disconnect from your shitty smart bro service. Obligado ako magbayad dahil sa kontrata nyo. Tang ina nyo.
May 13th, 2006 at 9:33 pm

Hehehe

Hello to all my fellow Smart bro/wi-fi subscribers:
I am a subscriber of Smart’s internet service for about 5 months or so na, and like most of you, naka-encounter din akong mabuwiset sa kanilang service. December kinabit ang internet ko and from day 1 na nagpa-install ako, di na ako nawalan ng sakit ng ulo. Most of the time eh sobrang bagal ng connection ko, minsan ay wala pa nga. At kung napapansin na ng agent na aburido na ako dahil wala namang nagyayari sa ginagawa naming troubleshooting (yung medyo lumalakas na ang boses ko) sasabihin nila na “Sir, we will just forward your concern to our higher technical group, expect a call from us within 24 hours”. Parang may script ano? A call within 24 hours, asan? hehehe. And you know what, MINURA niya yung agent. And then yun, after a week nagpadala sila ng contractor sa amin at dun namin nalaman na palpak pala yung antenna. From 0kbps (saklap) ngayon I get an average of 350kbps, pinakamababa na ang 150kbps, kahit anong time of day yun. End of March naayos ang connection and so far, wala na akong nagiging problem. Sana magtuloy-tuloy na. I even got complete rebates from December-March!
